The Paleo Rodeo #181

Welcome to this week's edition of The Paleo Rodeo!

The Paleo Rodeo is a weekly blog carnival featuring the best paleo-related posts by members of the PaleoBloggers e-mail list. The past editions of the Rodeo are collected on this page.

What is "paleo"? As I say in Modern Paleo Principles:

A "paleo" approach to health uses the evolutionary history of homo sapiens, plus the best of modern science, as a broad framework for guiding daily choices about diet, fitness, medicine, and supplementation. The core of paleo is the diet: it eschews grains, sugars, and modern vegetable oils in favor of high-quality meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables.
The purpose of The Paleo Rodeo is to highlight some of the best blogging of the ever-growing paleosphere.

Jennifer Brand aka Alliefitfoodie presents A PALEO AMERICAN PRINCESS, PRACTICING WHAT I PREACH posted at Alliefitfoodie, saying, "It seems to me that sometimes discussions around food and nutrition can be as contentious as religion. I wanted to better understand why this was the case so in this piece I do a little comparison and analysis on why this might be. I also do a little soul searching (pun intended) in it. Mostly this is for entertainment purposes however, so I hope you have fun reading it."

Jennifer Brand aka Alliefitfoodie presents THREE INGREDIENT PALEO PORK ROAST posted at Alliefitfoodie, saying, "I developed this amazingly easy recipe on the fly. There is a dish that is my favorite at a local Chinese restaurant, and it uses cumin and chili powder (among other things) and I crave it! I thought I'd try to recreate the flavor with this dish, and it was a success! Not only that, but it only has a few ingredients! Also I should note, my 'the slow cooked pork roast' used to be my favorite creation. Not any more! I like this one better."

Salixisme presents Gluten-Free Honey Cakes posted at Salixisme - Paleo Living, saying, "Hubby came up with this recipe, baking these to include in the kids packed lunches. They are gluten and grain-free, but do include honey so they are not particually low-carb. Like most paleo treats, these are intended to be a once in a while treat, rather than an everyday indulgence. Having said that, they were delicious with a slightly dense, moist mouth-feel."
